Violin’s are said to have been designed by Leonardo Da Vinci, under the auspices of the Medici family in Florence. Leonardo was an accomplished lutist well know for his interest in fern scrolls, a detail which became the standard for violin headstocks. The design is small, personal and exquisitely wrought. No violin should be abandoned to disuse. If you have an old violin needing repair, give us a call. We can make it beautiful and it will play again. The one below had fallen completely apart, but played again after it’s restoration.
